"sit tight"というのは日本語で『じっと待つこと』と同じ意味です。
つまりその場で（そのままの状態で）待つことを表す表現ですね。
それでは、"sit tight"を使ってみましょう。
To sit tight simply means to wait patiently.
Situation: Kim and Nicki are about to go to the mall when Kim realized that she forgot her cellphone.
Kim: I’m sorry, Nicki. Can you please wait for me here inside the car? I think I forgot something.
Nicki: Okay. What is it?
Kim: I forgot my phone. Please sit tight while I run back to the house and get it.
Nicki: I see. Okay. I’ll just wait for you here.
